  • If you’re a new customer who wants to start service, or if you’re calling to activate or re-activate a device, press 1.
    • Activate your device and get a new number? Press 1.
      • To activate your device, you have 2 options: Stay on the line and we’ll walk through the steps together, or you can do it on the web at virginmobileusa.com, where you can also find the terms and conditions. Either way, you’ll need to provide a valid zip code, your birthdate, and the ESN from your device.
      • To verify coverage in your area, please enter your 5-digit zip code.
    • Bring your current number over from another wireless carrier, press 2.
      • Please enter the number you’re moving to Virgin Mobile.
      • Before we move your number to Virgin Mobile, there are a few steps you need to take to help speed up the process. First, be sure to have the phone number you want to move ready for a customer care rep. They will also need the exact name and address on file with the other company. Finally, if you have an account number, password or PIN for that account, they’ll need that too.
      • Your call will be answered in less than 30 seconds.
    • Move your current service to another phone or device, press 3.
      • Please enter the 10-digit wireless phone number. Or if you don’t have one, press #.
      • In order to get you to the right care representative, please choose one of the following options: To activate, press 1. [connects you to a real person]

    • Locate a store or find a store, 4.
      • You can purchase any Virgin Mobile phone on our website at virginmobileusa.com, or at a retail location.
      • To hear that again, press 1.
      • Find a store, 2.
        • We can send a link directly to the phone you’re on. That will list stores near your current location, or in a different area.
        • If you’d like us to send a link now, press 1.

  • To check on a previous activation attempt, 2.
    • Ok. In order to find that, I’ll need the activation request number, or MEID ESN number and the account PIN you created with your last attempt.
    • If you have that activation request number, press 1.
      • Please enter your 18-digit activation request number now.
    • Or, the NEID ESN number, press 2.
      • Please enter the MEID or DEC equipment identifier number.
    • If you need help finding the NEID ESN, press 3.
      • If you have your MEID or DEC number, press 1.
        • Please enter the MEID or DEC equipment identifier number.
      • If you don’t have your MEID or DEC number and you have an Apple IPhone, or a device with a non-removable battery, press 2.
      • Or if you can remove the battery on your phone, press 3.
        • Ok. Here’s where to look under your phone’s battery. First, slide the back cover off your phone and pull out the battery.
        • The number should be on the back of the phone and should may start with a D, or say MEID DEC. It’s either 11, 14, or 18 digits long.
        • If you need more time, you can write down the information and call us back.
        • When you’re ready to continue, press 1. If you need more time, press 2.
      • To look on the box, press 4.
        • Ok, somewhere on the box, you should see a sticker with a series of bars and numbers on it. It might even look like a little UPC barcode, and there may be more than one set of numbers on the sticker, but we’re actually looking for a 14- or 15-digit number with no letters that is usually labeled as MEID or DEC in parentheses.
        • If you need more time, you can write down the information and call us back.
